Harry Swan, Managing Director of Thomas Swan, has been announced as the 13th David Goldman Visiting Professor of Innovation and Enterprise at Newcastle University’s Business School. The David Goldman Endowment was established at Newcastle University Business School in 2001 to create a legacy in memory of David Goldman, founder of software company Sage Group Plc. It provides funding for the David Goldman Visiting Professor of Innovation and Enterprise.
Harry will be officially welcomed into the role at the annual Goldman Lecture which will be held on 15th March 2016 at Newcastle University Business School. The event will see Harry take charge of a 12-month tenure to shape and develop the understanding of enterprise and innovation, both inside and beyond the Business School.
On his appointment, Harry said: “This is an exciting time to be taking up the David Goldman Professorship. It offers a great opportunity to share my drive for innovation with the business community”.
The Goldman Endowment also provides funding for a permanent Professorship role within the Business School, a David Goldman Doctoral Studentship and the annual David Goldman Lecture.
The Business School’s permanent David Goldman Professor of Innovation and Enterprise Savvas Papagiannidis, said: “I am delighted to welcome Harry to this role.
